Unlike tournament play, which is single elimination (or round robin), ladders are ongoing.  Play as many matches as you like by challenging players higher up on the ladder.  If you win, you take their spot and move up the ladder!  If you lose, you stay where you are.

Unrestricted Challenge:
Use your first Unrestricted Challenge wisely.  Players joining the ladder are placed at the bottom of the ladder.  A player's first challenge is "unrestricted" meaning you can challenge any position on the ladder.  But remember, if you lose, you stay at the bottom so try to determine where on the ladder you best fit and challenge in that area.
